If I recall the situation about decade ago, there was no smartphone and everyone used to have that basic mobile phone that was being used only to make and receive calls and SMS. Those days having a basic mobile phone was a matter of pride.  Those heavy weighted mobile phones with a small black and white screen and keypad required you to press keys with a force to type anything or dial a number.

These basic mobile phones which used to perform no other task than make/receive calls and SMS was comparatively costlier and the mobile carrier used to charge for receiving calls as well. Therefore if you were traveling with a mobile phone and somebody calls you to know where you are at, you are charged by the carrier if you answer that call.

Slowly slowly the things started to become better and as more companies entered into business, they stopped charging money for receiving calls. By the several other mobile phone companies entered in the market too and started to create better mobile phones.

Nokia was one of the leading mobile phone maker back then along with Panasonic, Ericsson etc and after few years several other mobile phone maker entered in the market. Although the first smartphone was made by IMB but Apple’s iPhone brought revolution in smartphone industry when the company first launched iPhone in 2007 and since then several other companies such as HTC, Huawei, Blackberry, Samsung manufactured great smartphone. Today we have several good smartphone manufacturing companies launching different smartphone throughout the year.

Today the customers have several choices to choose smartphone from depending on the price they are willing to spend. Apple and Samsung are two leading smartphone maker in today’s time which has changed the way how smartphone is used.

Today the phones aren’t merely used for making calls, its no less than a computer. All the tasks which a computer performs can be done by your smartphone. Infact, smartphone is more convenient for some of the tasks you use computer for. For example, Apple’s SIRI – personal assistant can do everything you tells her. For example if you have to send an e-mail, you can tell siri to do that. If you want to make a call to a particular person from your contact list, you can tell SIRI to connect a call with that person.

Smartphone are being used for accessing social media accounts such as facebook, twitter etc. With few applications installed on your smartphone, you can further make your life super easy. Today most of the people having smartphone and there are several app such as WhatsApp, Gmail etc which everyone installed on their smartphone. So since the person you want to contact to have WhatsApp installed on its smartphone as well, you can send unlimited free messages to anyone living at any part of the world, make them unlimited free voice/video calls.

As the time passing and competition increasing, the companies like Samsung, Apple, HTC etc are making smartphone even smarter. When Samsung recently launched Galaxy S8 and S8+ and soon be launching Samsung Galaxy S9, Apple is all set to release iPhone 8 in September with feature that you have never seen before. iPhone 8 will come with several amazing features that you have never seen.

Not just Apple, the new entrants (relatively), OnePlus, Xiaomi, Vivo have created a cut throat competition by launching great smartphones at almost half of the price that big players such as Samsung and Apple sell their smartphone for.

To summaries the whole situation, the smartphone have become an integral part of our live and we see new smartphone being launched by different companies. The tasks which computers are used for are being done by the smartphones.
